Turning Point Australia Appoints George-Alexander Mamalis as South Australia State Coordinator

6 October 2025

Turning Point Australia (TPAUS) is proud to announce the appointment of George-Alexander Mamalis as its South Australia State Coordinator, marking the first time in Australia that TPAUS has formally established a state leadership position. South Australia is now the first state to launch this new model — and with the state election just six months away, the timing could not be more critical.

George brings over a decade of experience as one of South Australia’s most recognised conservative voices. He is the founder of The Adelaide Set, a grassroots media platform that has grown to over 250,000 followers, making it one of the largest conservative digital communities in the nation.

His political background includes advisory roles with David Speirs (as Environment Minister for the Liberal Party), Sarah Game (Fair Go in State Parliament), and Senator Alex Antic in Federal Parliament. Holding a degree in Mineral Geoscience from the University of Adelaide, George combines policy insight with a strong commitment to individual liberty, economic responsibility, and free speech.

An Orthodox Christian and firmly libertarian-minded, George was a prominent voice during the COVID-19 era, using his platform to challenge lockdowns and mandates. He was also one of the few Australian media figures to publicly support Professor Nikolai Petrovsky, a world-renowned vaccine developer who questioned the reliance on mRNA technologies.

George Mamalis represents the new generation of conservative leadership,” said Joel Jammal, National Director of Turning Point Australia. “His reach, experience, and conviction make him the ideal leader to mobilise South Australians who want change.”

In accepting the appointment, George said: “I’m honoured to step into this role at such a critical moment for South Australia. For too long, ordinary Australians have been ignored while ideology has dominated politics.
Turning Point Australia offers a genuine movement for people who want freedom, fairness, and a stronger future. Over the next six months, we will give South Australians a real alternative.
